Canton, NY – Freshman Kiley Zicari drove in a pair of runs in the nightcap, but the SUNY Canton softball team dropped a pair of games against visiting Cazenovia College on Saturday afternoon.

GAME 1 – BOX SCOREÂ
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
·        Cazenovia scored a pair of runs in the first inning and added three each in the second and fifth innings to earn the run-rule win 8-0 in five innings.
·        Sophia Gundersen had the lone hit for the Roos recording a double.
·        Sarah Penny went 4-for-4 with an RBI for Cazenovia, while Olivia Simone and Sydney Burk had two hits each.
·        Morgan Marl earned the win for Cazenovia tossing five innings allowing just one hit with five strike outs and a walk.
·        Caitlyn Reed took the loss allowing eight runs, only two of which were earned, with four strike outs and a pair of walks.
GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
·        The Wildcats jumped out to a quick start in the nightcap posting 14 runs over the first two innings including 10 in the opening inning.
·        Canton scored twice in the second inning on a Zicari two RBI single down the right field line scoring Mackenzie Currie and Priscilla Soule.
·        Cazenovia tacked on another run in the top of the fifth for the 15-2 final.
·        Zicari led Canton with a single and two RBI, while Taryn Morrissey and Currie provided the other hits.
·        Penny paced Cazenovia going 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs and four RBI. Simone went 3-for-3 with five RBI and Marl and Haley Geistler had two hits each.
·        Emily Towle picked up her second win of the season for Cazenovia throwing a complete game allowing two unearned runs with three strike outs and a walk.
·        Abigail Sawyer took the loss giving up 10 runs with a strike out and two walks in 0.2 innings.
WHAT'S NEXT?Â
The Roos are back in action on Wednesday when they host Wells College in a non-conference doubleheader at 3 p.m.
