Rosado & Reed Record Two Hit Games at Plattsburgh

Plattsburgh, NY – Edilberto Rosado and Ty Reed both recorded two hit games and Rosado drove in a pair of runs as the SUNY Canton baseball team dropped a non-league game at Plattsburgh State on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Cardinals jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the opening inning. Canton got one back in the top of the second when Rosado scored Reed on an RBI ground out.
  • Plattsburgh took control of the game scoring one run in the second, two in the third, five in the fifth and two in the sixth to open a 13-1 lead after six innings.
  • The Roos would score one run each in the eighth and ninth as Rosado doubled home Gavin Neuland in the eighth and Nathan Welch scored on a wild pitch in the ninth but the deficit was too much to overcome.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Rosado and Reed had two hits each, while Welch and Nick Barone had the other Canton hits on the day.
  • Alex Kornblau went 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBI for Plattsburgh, while Justice Suafoa also had four hits and Andrew Veit recorded a pair of hits driving in three runs.
  • Ryan Nista improved to 2-0 on the season for the Cardinals giving up one earned run with eight strike outs and three walks in five innings.
  • Morgan De La Garza took the loss allowing six earned runs with two strike outs and five walks in 4.1 innings.

The Roos are back in action when they visit SUNY Cobleskill for a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader on Friday at 1 p.m.
