Mackenzie Currie eclipsed the 100 career hit mark with a five hit day as the SUNY Canton softball team dropped a road North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader at SUNY Cobleskill by scores of 6-2 and 11-3 on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- Canton took an early lead in the opener when Sophia Gundersen scored on a Currie RBI single.
- The Fighting Tigers drew even with a run in the bottom of the second and things would stay locked at one until a four run fifth for the hosts. They extended the lead to 6-1 with another run in the sixth.
- The Roos got one back with a Currie RBI single in the seventh to score Caitlyn Reed. The hit was the 100th career hit for Currie as she becomes the fifth player in the NCAA D-III era to accomplish the feat.
- Currie led the Roos going 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Angelina LoPiccolo and Jheri white had the other Canton hits.
- Olivia DeMott led the Tigers with two hits, while Alexis Miranda and EmmaRae Easton drove in three and two runs, respectively.
- Marissa Wheeler picked up the win for the hosts throwing a complete game giving up two runs with 12 strike outs and four walks.
- Abigail Sawyer took the loss surrendering five runs with five walks and a strike out in six innings.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE

- The Roos jumped out to an early lead with a Currie RBI single scoring Taryn Morrissey in the top of the first, but Cobleskill responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning for the 3-1 lead after one.
- Canton got within one in the third when Gundersen scored on a Currie double to right field. The Roos would tie things at three in the fourth when Jodie Soltau singled home Angelina LoPiccolo.
- The Tigers ultimately put things out of reach with an eight-run fourth inning to earn the run rule win in five innings.
- Currie and Sawyer had two hits each for the Roos with Currie driving in a pair of runs. Four players had one hit each.
- Kimberly Olsen was credited with the win throwing a complete game giving up three runs with three strike outs and a walk.
- Caitlyn Reed took the loss allowing five earned runs and six walks with three strike outs in four innings.
