HOW IT HAPPENED

The Roos got on the board first with two runs in the top of the first. Nathan Welch singled home Shoemaker and Dylan Allen followed with an RBI single to plate Hunter LaValley.

The Lions got within one scoring once in the third.

Canton tacked on a run in the top half of the fourth on a Shoemaker RBI single scoring Mike Henry.

Emerson tied things up with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and added two runs in the fifth, four in the sixth and one in the eighth for the 10-3 victory.

Shoemaker led the Roos going 4-for-5 with a run and RBI, while Welch and Allen also had multi-hit outings.

Blake Benway had three hits and 2 RBI for the Lions. Ty Bourne, Jake Hatch, Chris Ferera, Briggs Loveland, Jake Okamoto and Quinton Copeland all had two hits each for Emerson.

Angelo Deer earned the win for Emerson throwing five innings giving up three runs with three strikeouts.

Gavin Neuland took the loss surrendering nine runs with three strikeouts and four walks in 6.1 innings.

The Roos close out their Florida trip on Saturday when they take on St. Norbert College at 9 a.m.
