HOW IT HAPPENED
- Curry got on the board with three runs in the top of the first, one of which was unearned. The Roos responded with three of their own in the bottom of the frame. Welch reached on an error scoring Nick Shoemaker. Edilberto Rosado laced a 2 RBI single down the right field line to score Nick Barone and Welch.
- The Colonels regained the lead with one run in the second and two in the third to open a 6-3 advantage. They extended their advantage to four with another run in the top half of the sixth.
- Canton had a huge sixth inning plating five runs to open their first lead of the game at 8-7. Shoemaker singled home Alphonse Fuca and Frank Nieto placed a base hit down the left field line to bring across Derek Maldonado. Welch emptied the bases with a three-run homer to right field bringing across Shoemaker and Nieto.
- Curry tied things up with a run in the seventh inning. The Colonels had their first two batters reach base in the top of the ninthb but Morgan De La Garza induced a ground ball double play and with the go-ahead run at third with two outs got a ground ball to end the inning.
- The Roos got back-to-back singles with two outs in the bottom of the frame but a strike out would send things to extra innings.
- Curry saw its first two batters in the 10th reach base on a single and a walk and moved a pair of runners into scoring position with one out on a sacrifice. However, Michael Sandarr was able to get out of a jam getting an infield pop out and a fly out to left to end the Colonel threat.
- In the bottom of the 10th Shoemaker and Nieto reached on back-to-back Curry errors and LaValley came through with a clutch RBI single to center to score Shoemaker for the walk-off win.
