Hope Aniceto poured in a game and career-high 28 points to lead the SUNY Canton women's basketball team to an 80-62 non-conference win v. Bryant & Stratton Albany on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos jumped out to a 34-20 lead after 10 minutes of play in a high scoring first quarter.
- The defenses stepped up in the second stanza as Bryant & Stratton held a slim 15-12 scoring edge. The hosts took a commanding 46-35 lead into intermission.
- Canton extended its lead to as many as 21 in the third quarter, their largest lead of the game. The Roos led 65-50 after the third quarter.
- The Bobcats trimmed the lead to single digits getting with nine with 3:49 to play in the game, but the hosts closed the game on an 11-2 run to earn the win. Â
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Aniceto led all players with 28 points shooting 6-for-9 from the field, 5-for-8 from three and 11-for-12 from the line. Culkin posted 18 points and 16 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. Samantha Dayter stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, 11 rebounds and four assists on 3-for-6 shooting. Emma Perez chipped in 10 points, six rebounds, four steals and four assists.
- Aniceto's previous career-high was 22 in a win against Bryant & Stratton Syracuse on November 21st.
- Hasjina Gaddy recorded a double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds for Bryant & Stratton, while Saige Roberts (14), Fatima Bakayoko (12) and Na'Seyah Dix (10) all scored in double figures.

The Roos invited the local Canton Hoopsters to the game as they took part in a scrimmage at halftime to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day which took place nationally on Wednesday, February 1st. Â
