Cobleskill, NY – Hope Aniceto scored a game-high 17 points, but a strong third quarter carried host SUNY Cobleskill to a 62-51 victory over the Roos on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos closed the first quarter on a 5-0 run as Aniceto hit a three with less than a minute left to give Canton a 15-11 lead after 10 minutes.
- Canton extended their lead to as many as nine (26-17) after Emily Shook drained a three with 1:18 left in the opening half. The Roos led 26-19 at intermission.
- The third quarter proved to be the difference in the game as Cobleskill outscored Canton 22-7 in the quarter to take a 41-33 lead into the fourth quarter.
- The Roos got within six early in the fourth, but the Fighting Tigers pulled away late for a 62-51 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Aniceto led all players with 17 points on 6-for-13 shooting including a 4-for-7 mark from behind the arc. Marijke Kroon had another strong outing with eight points, five rebounds and two blocks. Emma Perez and Shook chipped in six points apiece, while Joie Culkin had a game-high 11 rebounds and Samantha Dayter dished out a game-best seven assists.
- Taylor Meacham (11), Jordan Finch (11), Audriana Hollister (10 and Sierra Delaney (10) all scored in double figures in a balanced Fighting Tiger attack.
- The Roos turned the ball over 22 times leading to a 24-9 points off turnovers advantage for Cobleskill. The Tigers also outscored Canton 26-10 in the paint.
WHAT'S NEXT?
This concludes the regular season for the women's basketball team as they have locked up a NAC postseason berth. Official seedings, matchups and game times are expected to be announced by the league office on Tuesday evening or Wednesday once all conference games have been completed.
