Joie Culkin and
Samantha Dayter all scored in double figures, but a strong second half carried SUNY Cobleskill to a 79-56 win v. the SUNY Canton women's basketball team in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) quarterfinal playoff game on Friday evening at SUNY Poly.
The three seed Roos season ends, while the two seed Tigers advance to Saturday's NAC semifinal against NAC West top seed and host SUNY Poly.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team led by more than three in a back-and-forth opening quarter as the Roos took a 15-13 lead after 10 minutes of play.
- With Canton leading by two (26-24) with 4:33 left in the half Cobleskill went on a 9-0 run to open up a seven-point lead (33-26) three minutes later. The Roos responded with a 5-0 run including an Aniceto layup just before the halftime horn to get within 33-31 at intermission.
- Dayter led the Roos with 10 first-half points, while Culkin had eight. Talia Washington paced the Tigers with eight points.
- The Roos trailed by just five (41-36) four minutes into the third quarter but over the next four minutes the Tigers went on a 14-2 run to blow open a 17-point lead. Cobleskill outscored the Roos 23-12 in the third quarter taking a 56-43 lead to the fourth.
- Cobleskill continued to control play in the fourth quarter, 23-13, for the 79-56 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Aniceto tallied 13 points, Culkin posted her eighth double-double of the season (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Dayter chipped in 10 points. Emma Perez and Emily Shook finished with six points apiece and Shannyn St. Andrews chipped in eight rebounds.
- Washington led all players with 16 points, while Annie Canales (12) and Jordan Finch (11) also scored in double figures. Taylor Meacham (9), Sierra Goodson (7) and Emily Satterday (7) all contributed with solid scoring outings in a balanced Tiger attack.
- Cobleskill held the edge in bench points (34-14) and second chance points (17-5).
- The Roos finish the season with 14 wins which sets a new single-season program mark for the NCAA D-III era and are the most wins (four-year school) by a SUNY Canton women's basketball team in the last 16 seasons since the 2006-07 team won 23 games.
