Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's basketball team jumped out to a large lead after the first quarter and continued to dominate throughout the game, topping SUNY Delhi 86-40 in a in matchup of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) foes. Freshman

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aniceto opened the game with three-straight three pointers on the way to pushing the Roos to a 12-2 lead halfway through the first quarter. Pina's layup closed out the scoring for the quarter with Canton up 22-10.
- The Roos continued to control the game in the second, outscoring the Broncos by 10 and pushing their lead to 22 points. Senior Samantha Dayter scored nine of the last 13 points of the quarter to put the Roos up 39-17.
- The third and fourth quarter were more of the same with Canton shooting an impressive 46 % in the second half and going 7-8 from the charity stripe to close out the game 86-40.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pabo's 22 points came from an 8-18 shooting performance and 5-6 from the free-throw line.
- Sophomore Marijke Kroon and junior Kennady Allen both led the team with seven rebounds each.
- Dayter finished with nine points, six assists, five rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
- The Roos led in points off turnovers (26-0), second chance points (20-9), bench points (17-2), points in the paint (46-6) and fast break points (14-2).
ROOS HOST HOOPSTERS
The Roos hosted the Canton 5
th & 6
th grade Hoopsters for a clinic this week and the youth basketball team played a mini-game at halftime.
