Canton, NY – Riley Andzel tallied her second goal of the season at 11:21 of the third period and
Molly Lenihan recorded a 25 save shutout, her second of the year, as the Roos picked up their first ever SUNYAC win and just their second ever victory against Oswego State on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team could get much going offensively early on as the teams combined for just five shots on goal over the first 16 minutes of action.
- The Lakers began to get some offensive momentum late in the period with four shots in a two-minute span, but Lenihan was up to the task making the saves.
- Oswego held a 7-4 shots advantage in the opening period as the teams skated to first intermission scoreless.
- The Roos controlled shots in the second period owning a 14-8 advantage, including peppering Oswego's Hannah Skavnak with four in the final minute, but the game remained scoreless after 40 minutes.
- Canton broke the tie at 11:21 of the third period. Sydney Valiquette poked the puck into the Roos offensive zone as Riley Andzel skated in and buried her second goal of the season to put the Roos on top.
- The Lakers owned a 10-6 shots advantage in the final period, but Lenihan stayed strong stopping all 10 shots to preserve the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Shots were dead even at 25 apiece for the game, while the Roos held an edge in face offs, 30-26.
- Lenihan was outstanding stopping all 25 shots she faced for her second shutout in three appearances in her rookie season. Hannah Skavnak made 24 saves in defeat for the Lakers.
- The Roos were 0-for-1 on the power play, while Oswego was 0-for-2.
