Houghton, NY – Kevin Goode Jr. led four players in double figures as the Roos exploded for 18 points in OT to earn an 81-74 road win at Houghton on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Houghton jumped out to an early 10-3 lead early on, but Canton quickly erased the deficit with a 10-2 run that was capped off by a Byron Streb layup to take a 13-12 lead five minutes in.
- From there neither team led by more than four points the rest of the half as the Highlanders took a 38-35 lead into intermission. The hosts shot nearly 52% from the field in the first half.
- Streb led the Roos with nine first half points, while Jevonte Williams had seven. Preston Thomas paced Houghton with 15 in the opening stanza.
- Houghton opened a seven point lead early in the second half but over the final 12 minutes of regulation neither team led by more than one possession.
- Moe Biao made a layup with 54 seconds left in regulation to tie things at 63 apiece. Both teams missed three-pointers in their final possessions as they headed to overtime.
- Goode Jr. and Brennan Harmer each recorded baskets early in the OT and Biao scored four straight Canton points to open a 75-65 advantage as the Roos cruised to the win. The Roos shot nearly 63% from the field and hit eight of their 10 free throws in the extra session.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Goode Jr. tallied team-highs with 17 points and five steals to go with four rebounds and three assists shooting 6-for-11 from the field. Bryon Streb supplied 14 points and seven rebounds, while Williams finished with 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals on 6-for-12 shooting.
- Biao recorded 13 points and eight rebounds, Harmer added nine points and eight boards and Terrence Fields finished with eight points and five rebounds.
- Thomas led all players with 24 points for the Highlanders, while Jajuan Preaster (15) and Trey Flatt (13) also scored in double figures.
- Canton shot over 41% from the field, while Houghton hit on nearly 41% of their field goals.
- Rebounding was nearly even while Canton had the upper hand in bench points (33-15) and points off turnovers (25-14).
