Randall & Holmes Help Roos Top Terriers

Waterville, ME – Sophomore Eric Randall scored early and classmate Mason Holmes scored late to help the SUNY Canton men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Thomas College in a cross-division North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • Randall got the Roos going early, tickling the twine just over 12 minutes into the first half.  His goal was assisted by sophomore Ethan Leibeck.
  • The teams played even through the rest of the first half and most of the way through the second.
  • Holmes put the insurance marker on the board, scoring at the 81:30 mark.  Junior Leo Golden was credited with the assist.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Randall and Holmes' goals were their second of the season.  The assists for Leibeck and Golden were their second as well.
  • Senior Owen Kwong finished the game with six saves for the Roos, three in each half to earn the shutout.  Thomas's goalkeeper, Matthew Gosselin finished the day with three stops.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Roos travel down the coast to take on Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, ME on Sunday October 8th at 1:30 p.m.
