Canton, NY – A goal by sophomore Martin Torales gave SUNY Canton a first half lead, but two early second-half goals by Maine Farmington led to the Roos first Northern Athletic Conference (NAC) loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Torales scored his third goal of the season at 37:11 of the first half on a penalty kick.  His blast just beat a diving Jonah Sautter to give the Roos the 1-0 lead.
• The Beavers knotted the game at one when Coleman Watson redirected a header from William Dowse past junior goaltender Owen Kwong.
• Maine Farmington took the lead for good less than 10 minutes later, on a chip shot by Zach Chaisson that drifted just over the outstretched hands of Kwong.
• The Roos had several quality chances throughout the second half, including two shots on net and two blocked shots, but couldn't find the equalizer as time expired.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Kwong made three saves for the Roos while the Beavers Jonah Sautter logged five.
• Torales finished with four shots on goal for the Roos while senior Agustin Nunez and junior Brennan Harmer finished with one each.

The Roos will host conference opponent NVU–Johnson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
