Canton, NY – Gavin Neuland threw six innings without giving up an earned run and
Nick Shoemaker threw a scoreless inning to earn the save and went 3-for-4 at the plate in the nightcap as the SUNY Canton baseball team earned a split with SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday.
The Fighting Tigers won the opener 15-3 and the Roos bounced back with a 6-3 win in the nightcap.

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE
- Cobleskill scored once in the second, added five runs in the third, four in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh to earn a 15-3 win in the opener.
- The Roos got on the board with a pair of runs in the fifth and added one in the sixth.
- Frank Nieto singled home Mackenzie Mather and Kevin Kapfer plated Shoemaker on a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Zach Miner hit a solo homer in the sixth.
- Miner, Dylan Allen and Mather led the Roos with two hits each in the opener.
- Zach Ducorsky went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, while Logan Hutter had two hits and 3 RBI for Cobleskill. Frank Leger also homered for the Tigers.
- Wyatt Palmer earned the win allowing three runs with six strike outs and two walks in six innings.
- Kieran Gibson took the loss giving up five earned runs with two strike outs and a walk in four innings.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE
- Canton got out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Allen scored Dyllon Bougor on a ground out. Cobleskill knotted things at one with a run in the second.
- The Roos regained the lead with three runs in the third. Miner singled home Bougor, Allen scored Shoemaker on a base hit and with runners at the corners Don Louis Rodriguez brought home Miner on an RBI sacrifice.
- Canton added one run each in the fourth and fifth innings. Shoemaker doubled to left center to score Bougor in the fourth and Alphonse Fuca brought across Allen on a sacrifice fly to left in the fifth.
- The Tigers added one run each in the fifth and sixth innings but Shoemaker came on after a pair of walks and got three outs to pick up the save.
- Shoemaker went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI, while Allen was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Bougor went 2-for-3 with two walks and scored three times. Miner and Rodriguez had a hit and RBI each.
- Neuland allowed just two hits and no earned runs with three strike outs and five walks in six innings. Shoemaker earned the save getting three straight outs in the seventh.
- Devin Lewis took the loss for Cobleskill allowing six runs in five innings with five strike outs and three walks.

WHAT'S NEXT?
This concludes the NAC portion of the Roos schedule. They close out the regular season on Sunday when they host Plattsburgh State at 12 p.m. The team will celebrate Senior Day.
