Bougor, Mather, Miner & Reyes Record Multi-Hit Outings as Roos Fall in Extras, 9-8

Cobleskill, NY – Dyllon Bougor, Mackenzie Mather, Zach Miner and Noah Reyes all had two hits each but host SUNY Cobleskill overcame a late 8-1 deficit to win 9-8 in extra innings in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Friday evening.

With the win the Tigers remain perfect at 9-0 in league play, while the Roos fall to 5-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos jumped out to a 6-0 lead after five innings with two runs each in the second, third and fifth innings.
  • Nathan Welch hit a solo shot and Mather singled home Miner in the second. Reyes plated Bougor on a base hit and Welch scored Reyes on a ground out in the third.
  • Reyes brought across Bougor with a base hit in the fifth and Dylan Allen produced an RBI single to score Reyes.
  • Cobleskill got on the board with one run in the sixth before Canton tacked on two more in the top half of the seventh to lead 8-1 heading to the bottom of the frame.
  • The Fighting Tigers scored two in the seventh and three in the eighth to get within 8-6 after eight innings.
  • Cobleskill scored twice more in the ninth on a solo homer from Logan Hutter and the tying run scored on a wild pitch. The Tigers would win it in the bottom of the 10th on a Samuel Gutie RBI walk-off single.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Bougor, Mather, Miner and Reyes had two hits each with Reyes driving in two runs. Nathan Welch had his third homer of the season and drove in two runs, while Allen also posted a hit.
  • Zach Ducorsky and Hutter posted two hits each for the Tigers as eight different players had hits.
  • Gavin Neuland earned the no-decision throwing 7.2 innings allowing five earned runs with four strike outs and three walks. Anthony Bocchino took the loss giving up three runs with three walks in 1.2 innings.
  • Aidan Maxwell was credited with the win throwing two innings of scoreless ball allowing one hit. Overall the Cobleskill bullpen allowed just two hits and two unearned runs over the final 5.1 innings.
