Cortland, NY – Zach Miner,
Dylan Allen and
Noah Reyes all had three hits each and combined to drive in seven runs as the SUNY Canton baseball team opened North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play with a 14-6 win v. Cazenovia College on Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first. Miner tripled home Reyes and later scored after Allen reached on an error. Alphonse Fuca also scored on the play.
- Cazenovia responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning.
- Canton broke things open with four runs in the fourth, all of which were scored with two outs. Miner scored Frank Nieto with an RBI single after Nieto led off the inning with a single. Fuca plated Miner on an RBI single and Allen doubled home Don Louis Rodriguez and Fuca.
- The Roos tacked on one run each in the fifth and sixth innings. Reyes used an RBI single to left to score Dyllon Bougor in the fifth before Allen doubled home Fuca in the sixth.
- The Wildcats got within 9-4 with two runs in the sixth but Canton blew things open with a five-run seventh.
- Reyes singled home Nick Shoemaker, Fuca reached on a fielder's choice that scored Bougor and Reyes, Miner crossed home on a wild pitch and Seth Gilbert scored Fuca on a sacrifice fly.
- Cazenovia would add one run each in the seventh and ninth innings for the 14-6 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Miner went 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs and 2 RBI. Allen was 3-for-5 with two doubles and 3 RBI. Reyes finished with three hits, two runs and 2 RBI.
- Bougor went 2-for-3 with two walks and scored twice, while Fuca had two hits, a walk and scored four times.
- Cameron Ciampaglia and Lachlan Rees had three hits each and combined for 3 RBI for the Wildcats.
- Kieran Gibson earned the win for the Roos tossing six innings allowing three earned runs with three walks. Greg Pinkney, Nathan Welch and Anthony Bocchino threw one inning each in relief with Pinkney and Bocchino allowing one run each (unearned for Bocchnio), while Welch threw a scoreless inning.
- Zach Rainville took the loss for Cazenovia allowing five earned runs in four innings.
