Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton Esports teams wrapped up a successful fall 2022 semester that saw the Roos various teams compile over 125 wins in both State University of New York (SUNY) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) play as a pair of teams won their respective championships.

The Roos featured teams competing in Rainbow Six Siege, Hearthstone, COD: Vanguard, Madden, Halo Infinite, Overwatch, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Valorant in ECAC play. In SUNY league Canton featured teams competing in COD: Warzone, COD: Cold War, Valorant, Guilty Gear Strive, Rainbow Six Siege and Rocket League. Overall the Roos saw 15 teams compete in ECAC play finishing with a 74-61 record, while 11 teams took part in SUNY action with a 53-40 record.

SUNY Canton's Call of Duty Warzone 2 team won a championship in SUNY play with a 3-2 win over their fellow Roos Call of Duty Warzone 1 team in a thrilling championship match. In ECAC play the Roos League of Legends B team captured a 3-1 win over Stonehill College in the championship match.

The Roos COD Warzone 2 team is made up of Jared Barnum and Isaiah Gabriel while competing members on the League of Legends B team are starters

"It was a challenging series and each team had chances to win," League of Legends Head Coach
Mark Avery said. "Stonehill has a great team and they played around their strengths well. They surprised us in the first game and we had to strategize a new game plan for the rest of the series. Game two was a hard-fought victory that saw large lead changes in each team's direction."

"In the end, Mason, Owen, Vick, Aeneas, and Damian did a fantastic job with communication, executing our game plan and avoiding costly mistakes," Avery continued. "After pulling the series back to even we settled down, played our League of Legends, and closed the series out 3-1. I could not be prouder of this group and how hard they have worked to improve. They are all terrific athletes and representatives of the Canton Esports program."

In addition to the Roos two championship teams there were four other teams finishing in the top three in SUNY league play including the COD Warzone A team (2nd place), the Rainbow Six Siege team (2nd place), the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War team (3rd place) and the Overwatch team (3rd place).
