Canton, NY – Five players reached double figures for the Roos paced by a game-high 22 points from
Sophia Munoz but the SUNY Canton women's basketball fell 85-81 to visiting SUNY Cobleskill in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Play was extremely even in a high scoring first quarter. Neither team led by more than four points as the teams were tied at 20 after 10 minutes of play.
- The Fighting Tigers outscored the Roos by eight in the second quarter closing the half on a 7-0 run to take a 42-34 lead into intermission.
- Play continued to be close with the Roos holding a slim 22-21 scoring edge in the third quarter.
- The Fighting Tigers used an 11-0 run early in the fourth quarter to open up their largest lead of the game at 16 (74-58) with 6:53 to play. The Roos roared back with a 20-7 run to trim the deficit to a single possession at 81-78 after a Hope Aniceto layup with 24 seconds remaining.
- Cobleskill went 4-for-6 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the win. Â

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Munoz led all players with 22 points shooting 9-for-16 from the field and 4-for-5 from the line, while adding 13 rebounds. The double-double is the third of her rookie season. Aniceto totaled 18 points, while Joie Culkin recorded her second straight double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Emma Perez (12) and Samantha Dayter (10) also reached double figures, while Dayter dished out a game-high seven assists to go with eight rebounds.
- Annie Canales paced Cobleskill with 14 points, while Talia Washington added 13. Jordan Finch recorded 12 points and eight rebounds and Kayleigh Bryant finished with 10 points. Emily Satterday chipped in eight points and 15 rebounds as Cobleskill had eight players score eight or more points.
- Play was extremely even overall in numerous statistical categories, but the Tigers received a big lift from their bench outscoring the Canton reserves 30-4.
