Levy Nets Career-High 20 v. Fighting Tigers

Canton, NY – Senior DeMerrill Levy posted a career-high 20 points, but a strong second half carried visiting SUNY Cobleskill to a 74-63 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win v. the SUNY Canton men's basketball team on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos jumped out to an early five point lead before Cobleskill battled back to open a seven point advantage with 6:12 remaining in the opening half.
  • Canton responded with a 10-0 run that included eight points from Levy. The teams went into intermission tied at 32 apiece.
  • The Fighting Tigers opened a double-digit lead at 59-48 after an Iziah Pigott three-pointer with 7:11 remaining in the second half. Canton trimmed the deficit to five (63-58) with 3:24 remaining after a pair of Quran DuBois free throws but that was as close as the Roos would get.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Levy led the Roos with a game-high and career-high 20 points and added four rebounds on 7-for-13 shooting including a 4-for-6 mark from behind the arc. DuBois tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks while knocking down all six of his free throws.
  • Michael Nunnally totaled 10 points and six rebounds to go with three blocks and a pair of steals. Brennan Harmer chipped in eight points off the bench.
  • Markel Jenkins led Cobleskill with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Pigott (13) and JaNyve Smith (12) scored in double figures. Andre Starks and Shelvon Grant supplied nine points apiece.
  • The Fighting Tigers controlled points in the paint, 44-24.
