DuBois' 15 Points Leads Roos in Consolation Game

DuBois Named to All-Tournament Team

Rochester, NY – Senior Quran DuBois scored 15 points and senior DeMerrill Levy scored 12 with seven rebounds as SUNY Canton dropped the Harold J. Brodie Tournament consolation game to Hamilton College 76-51 on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • DuBois scored on a jumper to give the Roos a 2-0 lead 16 seconds into the first half, but the Continentals immediately answered with a three-pointer and never lost the lead for the remainder of the game.
  • Hamilton expanded their lead to 14 points midway through the half on a three by Hank Morgan.  Junior Brennan Harmer's three-pointer kept the Roos within single digits at 25-17.  The Continentals ran out to a 17-point advantage on a pair of free throws with 3:13 left in the half. However, Levy's jumper with 19 seconds left brought the Roos within 12 at halftime.
  • Hamilton continued to dominate the second half, leading by as many as 27 points.  In the end, the Roos couldn't close the gap and lost by the score of 76-51.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Seniors Juztin Chambers-Phillips and JJ Omaga scored seven points each, Omaga also had seven rebounds and Chambers-Phillips finished with three.  Senior Fadil Atcha-Dedji led the Roos with nine rebounds and one blocked shot.
  • Morgan led Hamilton with 23 points and Teja Singh finished with 11 for the Continentals.
  • Hamilton had a large advantage in points off turnovers (21-6) and fast break points (13-2).  Rebounds were close with the Continentals holding a 45-42 edge.
  • DuBois was named to the All-Tournament team.
WHAT'S NEXT?
SUNY Canton opens North Atlantic Conference play next weekend, traveling to SUNY Poly on Friday, December 2nd at 7:30 pm.
