Joie Culkin netted a season-high 16 points but visiting Clarkson University outscored the Roos by 14 in the fourth quarter to earn a 57-53 victory in non-conference action Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos came out firing offensively jumping out to a 16-4 lead just less than six minutes in after an Emily Shook three-pointer. Canton hit three trifectas in the opening stretch. The hosts led 18-11 after the opening quarter.
- Canton outscored Clarkson 11-6 in the second quarter with Samantha Dayter scoring nine of the team's 11 points in the frame. The Roos led 29-17 at intermission.
- Play was even overall in the third quarter with the Knights holding a slim 14-12 scoring advantage. Canton led 41-31 after 30 minutes of play.
- The Knights scored the first five points of the fourth quarter and got within three midway through the quarter after a Mariah Benavides free throw. Culkin responded with a three to get the lead back to six, but Clarkson made four consecutive free throws and a layup to knot things at 47 apiece.
- Sophia Munoz and Cassidy Dumont exchanged made jumpers before Benavides banked in a shot to give Clarkson just its second lead of the game at 51-49 with two minutes remaining. The Knights went 6-for-6 from the line in the final minute to secure the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Culkin posted 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals shooting 6-for-12 from the field and 3-for-8 from three-point range. Dayter tallied 13 points, four assists, four rebounds, four steals and three blocks on 6-for-13 shooting. Munoz chipped in eight points and six rebounds off the bench, while Jayda Pina had six points and five boards.
- Cassidy Dumon led Clarkson with 17 points and Lauryn Withrow had 10 points.
- Canton shot nearly 39 % from the field, while Clarkson knocked down 33 % of their field goals.
- The Roos were whistled for 26 fouls compared to 10 for the Knights. Clarkson went 18-for-26 from the charity stripe, while Canton was 3-for-4.
- The hosts owned a 26-20 points in the paint advantage, while Clarkson controlled second chance points, 14-4.
