Samantha Dayter added 18 as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team earned a non-conference victory against Wells College on a record setting night on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Things were close early on with the Roos holding a 13-7 advantage midway through the opening quarter. Canton blew things open with a 25-4 run to end the final 5:03 of the quarter taking a 38-11 lead after 10 minutes of play.
- The hosts played lockdown defense in the second quarter holding Wells to just two points in the quarter, while putting up 29 offensively. Canton led 67-13 at intermission.
- The Roos continued their impressive play at both ends of the floor in the second half outscoring their foes 31-14.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Munoz led all players with 24 points and seven rebounds shooting 10-for-14 from the field. Dayter stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals in just 15 minutes of action shooting a perfect 7-for-7 from the field.
- Jayda Pina finished with a career-high 10 points to go with five rebounds in 13 minutes. Emily Shook recorded eight points, while Kennady Allen and Marijke Kroon supplied six points each with Allen hauling down seven rebounds. All 12 Roos who played had at least three points and played 10 or more minutes.
- The Roos broke their own program scoring record they set on Tuesday night by scoring 98 points in the win. They also set the D-III era record scoring 38 points in the first quarter and 67 in the first half. The Roos previous high in a quarter and half came when they put up 31 and 56 points, respectively, in the second quarter and first half of a road win last season at Wells. Canton also tied a program record previously set twice with 27 assists.
- Ai Orita led the Express with 12 points, Lydia Thomas had seven and Morgan Adams posted six.
- Canton held the upper hand in rebounds (53-19), points off turnovers (36-8), bench points (58-2), second chance points (33-4), points in the paint (58-14) and fast break points (22-8).

The women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday when they host Houghton College at 5 p.m.
