Box Score 2 Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team hosted the SUNY Canton Tri-Match on Saturday closing out the home portion of its 2022 schedule with a pair of losses to Plattsburgh State and St. Lawrence on Senior Day.
The Roos fell 3-1 (21-25, 10-25, 25-20, 26-28) to the Cardinals before dropping the nightcap 3-0 (21-25, 24-26, 22-25) to the Saints.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MATCH 1 - BOX SCORE
- The Roos jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opener and held a 9-6 advantage, but the Cardinals battled back to knot the first set at 14 apiece. Plattsburgh used a key 5-0 run to pull away before Canton responded with four straight points to get within 23-21. The visitors finished off the final two points of the frame with kills from Alicia Fisher and Jenn Braun.
- The Cardinals controlled the second set from start to finish earning a 25-10 victory.
- Play was back-and-forth in the second set with Canton holding a 14-12 lead midway through the stanza. The Roos scored 11 of the final 15 points for a 25-20 second set victory.
- The teams played another tight set in the fourth frame with the Roos rattling off six straight points to lead 21-19. The Cards posted four of the next six points to knot things at 23 apiece. Both teams exchanged three points each before Plattsburgh closed out the match on a Canton error and a Braun Kill.
- Alyssa Adams led the Roos with nine kills, while Marshall tallied six and Emily Dreyer and Cadin Taggart had five each. Kaylee Clark and Bethanie Gratton supplied 16 and 12 digs, respectively, while Michaella DeCapua had 17 assists.
- Braun paced Plattsburgh with 18 kills, while Fisher had 12. Peyton Zophy led the Cards with 27 digs defensively, while Emma Rivers dished out 45 assists.
MATCH 2 - BOX SCORE
- The Roos used a 5-0 spurt to jump out to a 17-14 lead in the first set, but the Saints used a run of six of seven points to take a 20-18 lead. St. Lawrence would close out the opening set 25-21.
- The visitors roared out to a 9-3 lead in the second stanza opening a 17-8 lead. The Roos battled back to get within 18-14. With the Saints leading 23-16 Canton used a 7-0 run to tie things at 23 apiece. St. Lawrence finished out the set with three of the final four points for a 26-24 win.
- Canton scored eight straight points in the third set to open a 21-15 lead. St. Lawrence responded with 10 of the final 11 points to earn the sweep 25-22.
- Marshall paced the Roos with eight kills, while Taggart and Adams had six each. Clark posted a match-best 21 digs, while DeCapua and Nadeau combined for 24 assists.
- Lainey Roman led St. Lawrence with 17 kills, while Julia Giroux had 15.

The Roos are back in action on Wednesday when they visit Keuka at 7 p.m.
