Plattsburgh, NY – Alyssa Adams led the Roos with eight kills but the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 road decision at Plattsburgh State in non-league action on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SUNY Canton jumped out to an early 7-5 lead in the opening set following a Gabrielle Durant kill. Plattsburgh rattled off six consecutive points to take an 11-7 lead. The Roos got within 16-14 but could never trim the deficit closer than that dropping the opener, 25-18.
- The Cardinals tallied 13 consecutive points on their way to a 16-3 lead in the second stanza as they won convincingly, 25-15.
- The Roos held a 13-7 lead in the third frame before seven straight points gave the hosts a 14-13 advantage. With the set tied at 17 apiece Plattsburgh State scored eight of the final 11 points to close out the match, 25-20.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Roos finished with 16 kills in the match but committed 22 hitting errors. The Cardinals posted 35 kills and 21 errors. Canton held the upper hand in digs, 35-32, while the Cardinals controlled aces (5-2), blocks (9-6) and assists (31-15).
- Adams was just one off her career-high finishing with eight kills on 17 swings with just two errors. Her .353 hitting percentage was a team-best on the evening and the best of her rookie season.
- Victoria Norton (3) and Durant (2) were the only other Canton players with multiple kills.
- Nicole O'Connor posted a team-best eight digs, while Michaella DeCapua had eight assists. Sarah Balcom registered four blocks, while Cadin Taggart added three.
- Payton Zophy paced Plattsburgh with 12 kills, while Jenn Braun added nine. Emma Rivers dished out 16 assists and Maddy Zophy totaled 10 digs.
