Canton, NY – The Roos generated multiple quality scoring opportunities but a pair of first-half goals just over seven minutes apart lifted visiting Russell Sage Colleges to a 2-0 win v. the SUNY Canton men's soccer team in a non-league game on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos had a couple of quality scoring chances early on. In the sixth minute Agustin Nunez's shot was saved by Sage goalkeeper Tyler Brennan.
- SUNY Canton's best chance of the opening half came when Martin Torales found Pedro DeSouza and his shot from just outside the box deflected off a defender and off the crossbar. Brendan Labbe got a head on the rebound but his shot went just wide right.
- Sage broke the scoreless tie in the 32nd minute when a Sage player played a through ball. A Roo defender looked to dive and clear the ball but it deflected into the open net for an own goal.
- The Gators double their lead late in the 39th minute. Christian Vaalstuen played a pass back to Allan Gonzalez who unloaded an absolute rocket into the top left corner passed a diving Kwong from well outside the box.
- Each team posted three shots on goal in the second half but the goalkeepers were up to the task combining to turn aside all six shots.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Owen Kwong made four shots over the first 63:50, while Jason Meneses stopped the only shot he faced over the final 26:10
- Tyler Brennan made two saves in the opening 61:25 to pick up the win, while Nolan Murphy saved a pair of shots over the final 28:35.
- DeSouza, Nunez, Labbe and Dylan Vanderpool registered one shot on target each for the Roos.
