Canton, NY – Owen Kwong made four saves but visiting SUNY Poly scored three second-half goals on its way to a 4-0 win in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener for both teams on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The visitors struck first in the 18th minute when Gerry Thermil played a beautiful through ball to Edgar Gomez who chipped the ball over a charging Kwong. Matthew McCord also earned an assist on the play. SUNY Poly led 1-0 at intermission.
- The Wildcats doubled their lead four minutes out of halftime when McCord set up another score, this time off the foot of Noah Fagnani.
- Poly extended the lead to three in the 75th minute when he buried his second goal of the game off helpers from Abus Mohamed-Ali and Edward Greene. Festus Alonge concluded the Poly scoring in the 85th minute as McCord assisted his third goal of the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The visitors held a 9-2 shots on goal advantage and the upper hand in corner kicks, 6-2.
- Kwong made four saves for the Roos, while James D'Alessio turned aside two shots for the visitors.
- Martin Torales and Pedro DeSouza recorded shots on goals for Canton.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The men's soccer team is scheduled to return to the pitch on Tuesday when they host Russell Sage College at 6 p.m.
