Potsdam, NY – The SUNY Canton women's soccer team received a strong performance in goal from rookie
Skylar Williams but the Roos fell 3-0 on the road at Clarkson University in the season-opener for both teams on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Clarkson opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Alexis Billings fed a pass to Angelina Fahrenkrug. The junior delivered a shot from about 18 yards out into the far corner to make it 1-0.
- The Roos trailed by just one at intermission and kept the game within a single goal until the hosts put away two scores over a three-minute stretch late in the second half.
- Chloe Hodge got one past Williams in the 80th minute off the setup from Haley Archambault before Julia Cascone assisted a Sarah Kohls strike in the 83rd minute.
- Williams had a strong outing in her first appearance with the Roos turning aside 16 Knights shots while allowing just three scores in the match.
- Desiree Forde registered a shot on goal for the Roos.
WHAT'S NEXT
The women's soccer team is scheduled to return to the pitch on Saturday when they host Oswego State at 1 p.m.
