Elmira, NY – Zach Miner led the SUNY Canton bats with three hits on the day but host Elmira earned a sweep of the Roos by scores of 8-0 and 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Roos swept the Soaring Eagles 7-4 and 4-1 on Friday.

GAME 1 – BOX SCORE Â
- Host Elmira scored eight runs over three innings and received a strong pitching performance for an 8-0 victory in the opener. The Soaring Eagles scored two runs in the first, five in the fifth and one in the sixth.
- Taber Carter threw a complete game four hitter with three strike outs.
- Shane Tiernan took the loss for the Roos surrendering three earned runs with six walks and two strike outs in 4.1 innings.
- Zach miner, Jesse Iacovetta, Noah Reyes and Dylan Allen had one hit each for the Roos. Mason Ryan led Elmira with two hits and three runs.

GAME 2 – BOX SCORE

- Elmira got on the board first in the nightcap with one run in the first. The Roos tied the game at 1-1 in the top half of the fourth when Ty Reed scored on a wild pitch after reaching base on a walk to start the inning.
- The Soaring Eagles regained the lead with one run in the bottom half of the inning and took a 3-1 lead with another run in the fifth.
- Canton got within 3-2 in the top half of the sixth as Zach Miner scored on a sacrifice fly to right field by Zach Bates. Elmira added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth and held on for the Game 2 win.
- Ray Mineo earned the win for Elmira tossing five innings giving up one earned run with two strike outs and three walks. Canton native Jack Finnerty threw one inning in relief giving up one unearned run, while David Kruis picked up the save with one inning of scoreless relief.
- Jackson Troiano took the loss for Canton scattering five hits and three earned runs over five innings with five strike outs.
- Miner led Canton with a pair of hits and run in the nightcap, while Reed also scored.
