Canton, NY – Chelsey Raven, Shanelle Borth and Seattle Lettau all reached double figures as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team earned a 61-52 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory against visiting Cazenovia on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The visitors got off to a strong start outscoring the Roos 18-11 in the first quarter. SUNY Canton turned the tide in the second stanza more than doubling up the Wildcats, 23-10.
• The hosts trailed 28-21 with four minutes left in the first half but closed the stanza on a 13-0 run that included back-to-back threes from Alexis Sullivan and Lettau. The Roos took the momentum and a 34-28 lead on the scoreboard into intermission.
• Raven and Borth combined for 20 of Canton's first-half points.
• SUNY Canton once again closed the third quarter with the momentum as they scored the final eight points of the third to lead 47-34 after three.
• Cazenovia tried to chip away at the deficit in the fourth but would never get closer than six points as the Roos earned their first conference win.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Raven recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Borth tallied 12 points.
• Lettau reached double figures for the first time in her young career with 10 points and added six rebounds and three assists. Seven of her points came in the final three plus minutes.
• Sullivan chipped in seven points off the bench on 3-for-5 shooting. Samantha Dayter added game-highs of seven steals and six assists to go with nine rebounds and five points.
• The Roos controlled the boards (57-44) with nearly as many offensive rebounds (27) as defensive (30).
• Bailey Bennett led Caz with 16 points, while Riley Miner chipped in 11.

The women's basketball is back in action on Tuesday when they visit Houghton College at 5:30 p.m.
