Twelve Players Score in Convincing Road Win at SUNY Delhi

Delhi, NY – Chelsey Raven recorded her sixth double-double of the season and 12 players registered a field goal as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team earned a convincing 73-40 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win at SUNY Delhi on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Roos jumped out to a quick 18-9 lead after the opening quarter and extended their advantage to a commanding 36-17 lead at intermission.
  • The teams were fairly even at 20-19 in the third quarter before Canton used stifling defense to limit Delhi to just three points over the final 10 minutes, while scoring 18 points of their own.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Raven led all players with 11 rebounds while adding 16 points and three assists. Seattle Lettau reached double figures for the second time in four games with 10 points and five rebounds.
  • Shanelle Borth and Samantha Dayter chipped in seven points apiece, while Dayter and Antanasia Chambers tied a game high with five assists. Borth pulled down eight rebounds.
  • Chambers, Brianna Brousseau, Kennady Allen, Joie Culkin, Shannyn St. Andrews, Hayleigh Armstrong, Mya Hodge and Jayda Pina all recorded a field goal in a balanced scoring effort for the Roos.
  • Myles Matthias led the Broncos with a game-high 17 points.
  • Canton dominated the game in rebounds (60-35) turning 30 offensive rebounds into 25 second chance points. The Roos also held the upper hand in points off turnovers (29-16), bench points (35-11) and points in the paint (38-6).
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The women's basketball team is back in action on Saturday, December 18th when they visit NCAA Division I University of Albany at 2 p.m.
