Erie, PA – Joie Culkin and
Chelsey Raven both reached double figures in scoring but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team fell to host Penn State Behrend, 91-60, in their tip off tournament on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SUNY Canton jumped out to an early 4-0 lead but the teams were extremely even early on as the host Lions held a slim 25-20 lead after the opening quarter.
- Penn State Behrend outscored Canton 22-12 in the second quarter to open up a 47-32 lead at intermission.
- The teams played a competitive third quarter that saw the hosts edge the Roos, 20-16. The Lions pulled away late for a 91-60 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Culkin paced the Roos with 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals including a perfect 4-for-4 mark from the free throw line. Raven tallied 10 points and seven rebounds hitting on five of her six free throws.
- Mya Hodge and Jayda Pina chipped in eight points apiece and combined for seven rebounds with Pina shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field. Seattle Lettau added seven points for the Roos.
- SUNY Canton held a 48-38 advantage in rebounding but 35 turnovers proved costly leading to 32 points for Behrend.
- The Roos shot 38.9 % from the field and 71.4 % from the free throw line. The Lions posted marks of 44.4 % and 62.5 %, respectively.
- Kara Haslett paced the hosts with 23 points, while Caitlin Carnuche (12), Alexis Furyes (11), Rachel Majewski (111) and Alanna Dibble (10) all registered double figure points.

The women's basketball team will square off with Alfred University in the consolation game of the Penn State Behrend Tip Off Tournament on Saturday at 1 p.m.
