Pittston, PA – Eight different players found the back of the net and four different Roos recorded multi-goal outings as the SUNY Canton women's hockey team earned a 14-1 win at King's College on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Roos jumped out to a quick lead just 20 seconds into the game when Sarah Kosnaskie tallied her first goal of the season off passes from Desiree Snook and Verity Lewis.
- Iida Laitinen tallied back-to-back goals less than three minutes apart to extend the lead to 3-0. Meaghan Best and Micayla MacIntyre picked up assistes on the first goal, while Sarah Kosnaskie and Danielle Goner picked up dimes on the second Laitinen score.
- The Monarchs got on the board at 15:15 with Josee Aitken finding the back of the net.
- SUNY Canton added scores from Hannah Clement and Gracyn Emmerton 53 seconds apart to take a 5-1 lead into first intermission. Best and MacIntyre assisted the Clement goal, while Hannah Desrochers and Lewis picked up helpers on the Emmerton tally.
- Snook added her first goal of the game 3:48 into the middle period off a feed from Sandrene Garofalo, this one coming shorthanded. Best set up a Verity Lewis goal two minutes later.
- Danielle Goner tallied her first collegiate goal at 6:03 with an assist to Lewis. Laitinen completed the hat trick at 12:08 of the second off a pass from Makayla Young and Emmerton put home her second goal of the game on the power play at 15:19. Kosnaskie and Lewis were credited with assists on the play. The Roos led 10-1 after 40 minutes.
- Lewis completed a hat trick of her own just under five minutes into the third period on the power play. Laitinen and MacIntyre picked up assists on the play. Three minutes later McGarrity and Lewis set up a MacIntyre score.
- Lewis and Laitinen concluded the scoring with a pair of goals two minutes apart resulting in the 14-1 final. Goner and McGarrity assisted the Lewis tally, while Karli St. Ann and Maggie Convery got in the points column with assists on the Laitinen score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Lewis led the Roos with three goals and five assists, while Laitinen had four goals and one assist. Emmerton finished with a pair of goals, MacIntyre had a goal and three assists, and Goner and Kosnaskie recorded a goal and two assists each.
- SUNY Canton finished with a 49-11 shots on goal advantage and a 36-16 edge in face offs.
- Sirena Alvarez made 10 saves in the win. Hannah Bowers stopped 17 shots allowing five goals over the first 20:55 for King's, while Juli Wilson turned aside 18 shots surrendering nine goals in the final 39:05.

The women's hockey team returns to the ice on November 12th when they host Morrisville State in their home and Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) opener at 4 p.m.
