Kunes Nets Second of the Season in Setback at Brockport

Brockport, NY – Autumn Kunes recorded her second goal of the season but the SUNY Canton women's soccer team dropped an 8-1 non-conference decision at Brockport on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Brockport scored four goals in the opening 21 minutes of the game with two off the foot of Camryn Pettit.
  • The Golden Eagles added two more scores 90 seconds apart as five different players found the back of the net in the opening half. The hosts held a 14-0 shots on goal edge in the opening half and led 6-0 at intermission.
  • Kiley Longin extended the lead to 7-0 in the 77th minute before Kunes got the Roos on the board with just over 11 minutes remaining.
  • She ripped a beautiful shot off a free kick from about 25 yards out into the upper left corner for her second goal of the season, which ties for the team-lead.
  • Longin added her second tally of the game with five minutes remaining for the 8-1 final.  
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Skylar Williams finished with a season-high 18 saves in the defeat for the Roos.
  • Guiliana Parisi was not forced to make a save over the first 60:38 earning the win. Morgan Lupo turned aside one shot, while allowing a goal in the final 29:22.
  • Brockport controlled shots (41-2), shots on goal (26-2) and corner kicks (16-0) in the contest.
  • The 18 saves by Williams are the most by a Canton keeper since Victoria Hanna stopped 22 shots against Plattsburgh State on October 29, 2019.

The Roos are back in action on Saturday when they host Cazenovia on Senior Day at 1 p.m.
