Lyndonville, VT – Danny Santana scored a game-high 23 points but host NVU-Lyndon earned an 81-77 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win v. the SUNY Canton men's basketball team on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Santana led all scorers with 23 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field and a 5-for-8 mark from behind the arc. Andrew Fitch supplied 15 points and nine rebounds in 20 minutes, while Quran DuBois added 10 points. George Nehma chipped in seven points, 11 rebounds and five assists, while Ibu Smith also had seven points.
• NVU-Lyndon led by as many as eight with 8:32 left in the first half but Canton trimmed the deficit to 38-33 at intermission.
• The Hornets led by six early in the second half but the game was close the remainder of the way with neither team leading by more than five points.
• The Roos led by five (74-69) with 1:04 to play following a Fitch layup. After an old-fashioned three-point play from Damon Denteh for the hosts Fitch responded with another layup to give Canton a four-point lead with 28 seconds left.
• Lyndon hit a three on their next possession and fouled down one with 20 seconds left. The Roos missed a pair of free throws and Canton committed a foul as Zach Falkenburg knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Hornets a one-point lead with 19 seconds left.
• Canton missed a layup and split a pair of free throws down the stretch while the Hornets knocked down all four of their free throws to seal the win.
• Antonio Carlisle paced Lyndon with 19 points shooting 7-for-10 from the field and 5-for-6 from three. Zach Falkenburg (13) and Denteh (10) also finished in double figures as five players had at least nine points for the hosts.
• Canton dominated 36-18 in the paint, while the Hornets controlled fast break points (29-5) and bench points (35-25).

WHAT'S NEXT
This concludes the regular season for the Roos as they await the official NAC playoff seedings release on Tuesday evening. Based off the current standings the Roos have locked up the two seed and a bye in the quarterfinal round.
