Cortland, NY – Sarah Kosnaskie scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season but host SUNY Cortland used four first period goals to earn a 5-1 win in Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) action on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Red Dragons received a pair of first period goals from Emily King five minutes apart and Martha Dzieniszewska and Elena Eichmann added scores as Cortland scored four times in just under an eight-minute span in the first period.
- Kosnaskie got Canton on the board at 7:59 of the second period with the skater advantage. Verity Lewis assisted Kosnaskie's fifth goal of the season.
- Amanda Gaffney added a fifth goal for the hosts early in the third period for the 5-1 final.
- Sirena Alvarez made eight saves in the loss, while Brooke Susac turned aside 20 shots only allowing one goal in relief.
- Chelsea Allain made 15 stops for the Red Dragons.
- Both teams went 1-for-4 on the power play.
