  • Location: Marano Campus Center Arena – Oswego, NY
  • Records: Oswego State (9-8-0) | SUNY Canton (9-6-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a start that included impressive speed by both teams the Lakers got on the board first at 6:09 of the opening period when Anthony Passero put home a sharp-angled shot from below the right circle. Alex DiCarlo and Tanner Spink earned helpers on the play.
  • Shortly after the goal Oswego went on the power play and that paid off 43 seconds later when DiCarlo roofed a shot from the left circle. Michael Gillespie and Max Novick assisted the score.
  • With the Roos on the power play Michael Cerasuolo came out of goal and attempted to play the puck but slipped and Spink buried a shot into the open net for the short-handed tally at 8:13.
  • The Lakers added a fourth goal at the 18:33 mark when Carson Vance went top shelf blasting a shot from the right point. Travis Broughman assisted the tally. Oswego led 4-0 after one.
  • Oswego State add three second period goals from Gillespie, Josh Zizek and Broughman with the latter two coming on the power play to take a commanding 7-0 lead after two.
  • The Roos got two back early in the third period. Brendan McCormack lit the lamp off passes from Adam Petric and Bailey Conlkin at 4:06.
  • Just under four minutes later Tyson Bruce scored with the skater advantage on a nifty move in the low slot. Matthew Headland and Kyler Matthews picked up assists on the play.
  • Oswego added a late goal from Tyler Antonucci for the 8-2 final.
  • Michael Cerasuolo made 25 saves in the start, while Austin Washkurak turned aside eight shots in relief.
  • Steven Kozikoski stopped 19 shots in the win for the Lakers.
