Meaghan Best recorded her first collegiate goal as the SUNY Canton women's hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 1 nationally-rnaked Plattsburgh State in a Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) contest on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Madison Walker opened the scoring for Plattsburgh at 7:34 of the opening period. Brooke Susac made 15 first period saves to keep the Roos within one after 20 minutes.
- Sara Krauseneck tallied her 13th goal of the season and fourth in two nights at 7:46 of the second and Abby Brush tallied her ninth goal of the season at the 17:29 mark for a 3-0 lead after two.
- Ivy Boric made it 4-0 in favor of the visitors when she found the back of the net on the power play at 5:15 of the third period.
- Best got the Roos on the board at the 14:21 mark. Hannah Desrochers dumped the puck into the offensive zone and Breanna Bedborough gathered the puck behind the Plattsburgh net. Her pass ricocheted to Best out in front who put her first goal in the back of the net.
- Susac finished with 33 saves in the contest for the Roos, while Ashley Davis made 11 stops as she remained perfect at 10-0-0 on the season.
