Roos Use Team Effort to Cruise to Shutout Victory v. NVU-Lyndon

Canton, NY – Thirteen different players found the back of the net as Emily Vogt and MaryClare Bowes both recorded hat tricks in a 20-0 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) shutout win as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team cruised past NVU-Lyndon on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vogt recorded her first collegiate hat trick that included a 2-for-2 mark on free-position shots, while Bowes totaled four points on three goals and one assist. Alyssa Kolbe, Lindsey Ingram and Stephanie Thayer scored twice each, while Allison Wakefield, Molly Denny, Sierra Halstead, Mia Jermano, Erin Grandaw, Logan Bush, Shelby Roberts and Genevieve Smith all scored.
  • Roberts, Smith, Grandaw and Halstead recorded their first collegiate goals, while Denny totaled a game-best five points on one goal and four assists to go with five ground balls and a game-high four caused turnovers.
  • Bush added a pair of assists, game-high seven draw controls to go with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Jessica Pele had an effective outing with a game-high six ground balls to go with four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
  • The Roos jumped out to a 10-0 lead just over midway through the opening half and led 15-0 at intermission.
  • Canton held the upper hand in shots on goal (34-0), ground balls (30-15), draw controls (15-5)
  • Nicole Piskorowski earned the win playing the first half, while Madison Leary played the second half. Zoe Pierce-Olhson made 14 stops for Lyndon.
