Canton, NY – Molly Denny and
MaryClare Bowes combined for 16 points as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team cruised to a 17-1 victory v. Elmira College in non-conference action on Thursday.
With the win the Roos improve to 11-3 on the season and tie the single-season wins mark joining the 2016 team that finished the season 11-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jessica Pele recorded a hat trick just 2 minutes, 13 seconds into the contest as Canton jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead. The Roos led 7-0, 6:29 in and took a 12-0 advantage into intermission.
- Denny led all players in points (9), goals (5), assists (4), ground balls (5), draw controls (4) and caused turnovers (3). Bowes totaled seven points on four goals and three assists, while Pele had the early hat trick to go with four draw controls and three ground balls.
- EllaRose LeMay found the back of the net twice and Cecelia Neally and Logan Bush added a goal and assist each. Emily Vogt also scored for the Roos, while Mia Jermano had four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Lindsey Ingram picked up three ground balls to go with an assist.
- Canton scored the first 16 goals of the game before Rachael Goetz got Elmira on the board on a free-position shot with 6 minutes, 9 seconds remaining.
- Nicole Piskorowski earned the win for the Roos, while Kacie Pierce took the loss making eight first-half saves.
- The Roos held the upper hand in shots on goal (32-1), ground balls (25-14), draw controls (12-8), turnovers (15-30), caused turnovers (12-5) and were a perfect 16-for-16 on clears.
