HOW IT HAPPENED
- David got the scoring started at 8:38 of the first period just over two minutes after the Roos killed off their first penalty of the contest. Connor Tuttle and Max Routledge earned helpers on the play.
- Joe Deveny doubled the Canton lead off passes from Tyson Bruce and Tyler Bullard five minutes later. With his 32nd career goal he tied Josh Sova '18 for most career goals in the NCAA D-III era. Austin Washkurak stopped all six shots he faced as Canton took a two-goal lead to first intermission.
- Jimmy Philbin put home the lone Morrisville goal at 5:17 of the second period after a defensive zone give away by the hosts.
- Canton got that goal back three minutes later when Zach Pease left the puck for Routledge below the right circle. He hit Kyler Matthews at the point who cycled a pass to Bruce on his left. Bruce and Matthews exchanged places as Bruce left the puck for a one-timer from Matthews that beat Mustang goaltender Jared Young top shelf over the right shoulder.
- The Roos quickly turned a 3-1 game into a 5-1 contest with a pair of goals eight seconds apart. Sean Shepard won the puck at center ice and fed a beautiful break out pass to Sean David who stayed onside at the blue line. He skated in alone on the breakaway roofing his eighth goal of the season under the cross bar.
- Moments later David won the faceoff back to Matthews who fed the puck back to David near the blue line. He played a pass from his knees to Bruce on his left who put home his sixth goal in 11 games in a Roo uniform.
- Washkurak made 17 saves on 18 shots in his second win of the season, while Young made 13 stops in the loss.
- Canton was 1-for-4 on the power play and 7-for-7 on the penalty kill.
