Andrew Fitch added 14 as the SUNY Canton men's basketball team earned a 60-52 win v. Clarkson University on Tuesday evening in the Roos House.
The win is the first head coaching victory for Roos first-year Head Coach
Shiva Senthil.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Santana posted 18 points shooting 4-for-7 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. Fitch tallied 14 points, nine rebounds and six blocks hitting on six of his nine field goal attempts.
- Justin Chambers-Phillips recorded 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting including a pair of free throws.
- The Roos jumped out to a 16-9 lead but Clarkson clawed back to take a 23-22 lead with 2:55 to play in the opening half. Canton responded with a 4-0 mini run to take a 26-23 lead into intermission.
- Canton extended its lead to nine (45-36) after a Zaavan Pedlar layup just over midway through the second half. The Knights cut the lead to one on three separate occasions and tied the game at 49 with 3:32 to play.
- The Roos behind their home crowd rattled off a 10-0 run that included a back-to-back dunk and layup from Fitch to open up a 59-49 lead en route to the win.
- Canton shot 18-for-24 from the charity stripe, while Clarkson was just 3-for-6. The Roos turned the ball over 21 times compared to just 11 for the Knights, which led to a 17-10 edge in points off turnovers for the visitors.
- Matt Higgins and Reese Swedberg led Clarkson with 14 points each, while Jason Phelps added 11.

The Roos return to action on Friday when they square off with Wentworth in the Middlebury Tip-Off Classic at 6 p.m.
