Presque Isle, ME – Kyle Smith scored three times and
Brett Anderson tallied a pair of goals as the SUNY Canton men's soccer team earned an 8-0 road win at Maine Presque Isle in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday.
Smith tallied a pair of goals in the opening six and a half minutes and completed the hat trick in the 68th minute.
Edward Malinoski, Jr. converted on a penalty kick and Anderson scored his first of the game in the 40th minute as the Roos (5-4-2, 2-1-0 NAC) led 4-0 at intermission.
Will Austin assisted three of Canton's four first-half tallies. Â
SUNY Canton scored on an own goal early in the second half before Smith, Anderson and
Conner Morse found the back of the net after the half.
Connor Bruyn assisted the Roos final two goals.
Mouhammed Thiam made two saves over the first 61 minutes to earn the win, while
Tyler Petersen turned aside two shots in the final 29 minutes. Caleb Thompson made 10 saves on the afternoon for the Owls (4-6-0, 0-3-0 NAC).
