Morse Scores Twice as Men’s Soccer Trips up Mountaineers, 4-1

Canton, NY – Conner Morse scored a pair of goals as the SUNY Canton men's soccer team earned a 4-1 win v. Southern Vermont College in non-conference action at Applejack Stadium on Sunday evening.

Morse collected a loose ball and finished from the middle of the box just 2 minutes and 15 seconds in to give the Roos (2-3-2) the early lead. Josh Geller doubled the Canton lead in the ninth minute when he eluded a defender and placed a shot past Mountaineer keeper Joey Wolodkevich from eight yards out. Canton took a 2-0 lead into intermission.

Jared Lacoste got Southern Vermont (1-7-0) on the board in the 56th minute when he ripped a shot from the right side across the face of goal.

Edward Malinoski, Jr. tallied his second goal in as many games in the 75th minute when he picked out a shot in the lower left corner from the left side of the box to extend the lead to 3-1. Morse blasted a shot from the middle of the box in the 81st minute for his second of the night leading to the 4-1 final.

Tyler Petersen stopped three shots in his first collegiate win for the Roos, while Wolodkevich made five saves for the Mountaineers.
