Oswego, NY – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team swept D'Youville College after falling in straight sets to Elmira College as they earned a split to close out play at the Oswego State Tournament on Saturday.
The Soaring Eagles defeated the Roos 3-0 (25-27, 19-25, 27-29) before SUNY Canton bounced back with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-20) win v. the Spartans. The Roos now sit at 8-3 on the season.
Match 1 – Box Score
The Roos played two sets that went to extra points v. the Soaring Eagles as SUNY Canton outhit Elmira posting 15 and 14 kills, respectively, in the first and third sets. Elmira posted 14 kills compared to just eight for Canton in the second set as the Soaring Eagles earned the sweep.
Tatum LaFrance posted a team-high nine kills, while
Melissa McMaster added eight.
Marissa Ixtlahuac and
Brynna Harris totaled six kills apiece, with Harris establishing a new career-best.
Jenifer Morgan-Aubin tallied a career-high 16 kills, while
Jenna Roat finished with 17.
Peyton Robinson dished out 32 assists and added seven digs.
Match 2 – Box Score
SUNY Canton swept D'Youville in the nightcap with 32 kills over three sets. LaFrance and Ixtlahuac posted eight kills apiece, while LaFrance added nine digs. Robinson recorded 25 assists with nine digs,
Jenna Roat posted 11 digs and
Brynna Harris added six kills.
Robinson was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance throughout the weekend.
