Coco & Yule Lead Balanced Effort as Men's Lacrosse Cruises to 22-2 Win v. Eagles

Canton, NY – Dante Coco posted three goals and five assists and Trenton Yule added four goals and two assists as the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team earned a 22-2 win v. Green Mountain College on Saturday.
 
The Roos (1-1) jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first quarter and took a 14-0 lead into intermission. The Eagles (0-2) got on the board twice after halftime but Canton cruised to the 20 goal victory.
 
Jake Sutton also chipped in four goals for the Roos, while Andrew Garrett tallied three goals. Jason Monplaisir (2-1-3) and Josh Yelvington (1-2-3) added three points apiece, while Brandon Schmidt and Sonny White also scored their first collegiate goals.
 
Brandon Rodee led all players with 11 ground balls, while Coco and Dobbs added seven apiece. Kyle Smith and Schmidt tallied a game-high three caused turnovers.
 
 
Kody Kocsis stopped the only shot he faced in the first half to earn the win. Brennan Bueno (3) and Justin LaDuke (1) combined for four second half saves while allowing one goal each.
 
Chris Surdam and Will Durant scored for the Eagles, while Matt Sonntag made 17 saves in the start and Chelsea Wimble made one stop in the fourth quarter.
