The women's hockey team celebrated K-9 Unit Appreciation Day prior to their contest. They honored local K-9 Units, and officers from US Border Patrol, New York State Police, Sheriff's Departments, and local Police Departments were present. These officers and canines risk their lives every day to protect our communities, and we thank them for their prominent dedication and sacrifice. In addition to generous donations of dog food and toys at the door, the SUNY Canton Criminal Justice department has also been working to support these K-9 Units. The Roos offered a special thanks to their guests of honor, Officers Ben LaBaff, Travis MacDonald, and Brandon Huckle, for assisting us our efforts in putting this game together and connecting us with all of the officers and canines that were in attendance.
Â
K9 Appreciation Day was counted as one of the "50 Acts of Kindness," a countdown of community engagement corresponding with the college's 50 Years on the Hill anniversary celebration. To see a complete list, visitÂ
