Canton, NY – Austin Washkurak stopped all 21 shots he faced and
Tyler Bullard and
Kasey Kulczycki scored as the SUNY Canton men's hockey team earned a 2-0 shutout v. Bryn Athyn College in the Roos House on Senior Night Saturday.

Neither team found the back of the net in the opening period as the visiting Lions held a slim 7-5 lead in shots.

The Roos (7-15-2) penalty kill came up big killing off over a minute of a 5-on-3 power play for Bryn Athyn. Canton capitalized with 36 seconds left in the second period.
Ben Beasley picked off a pass in the Lions (7-11-1) defensive zone and found
Josh Sova below the left circle.

Sova hit Bullard with a quick pass out in front as Bullard lifted a shot over the glove of a diving McKenzie Chalmer. SUNY Canton outshot Bryn Athyn 12-8 in the second period. Â

Canton doubled its lead at 10:40 of the third period when Kulczycki stole the puck from a Lion defenseman right in front of the Lions net and beat the goaltender inside the left post from point blank range.

Washkurak turned aside 21 shots in the shutout for the Roos, while Chalmer made 26 stops for the Lions.

The Roos honored their nine seniors, one graduating junior and student manager in a pre-game ceremony.
