Men’s Hockey Heads West to Indiana & Michigan; Adds Bruce from Oswego

Canton, NY – The SUNY Canton men's hockey team will head west this weekend to square off with Trine University and Adrian College, the first time the Roos have taken on western teams in the country since becoming a full-time NCAA Division III member.

The Roos square off with Trine (3-8-1) on Saturday at 7 p.m. eastern time. The team has a quick turnaround as it will take on Adrian (10-3-1) at 3:05 p.m. eastern time on Sunday. The Bulldogs are ranked third in the country in NCAA Division III in the latest polls from U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) and D3hockey.com.

Live stats and video are available for both contests by visiting the men's hockey schedule page.

SUNY Canton will have a new addition to the lineup after junior Tyson Bruce transferred in from perennial power Oswego State, a team ranked in the top seven in the country in both polls.
Bruce appeared in 17 career games for the Lakers posting five points on two goals and three assists. During juniors he played in 54 games for the Markham Royals of the OJHL recording 31 goals and 31 assists.

"We are excited to welcome Tyson to the team and will expect him to contribute and add depth to our lineup right away," Head Coach Alex Boak said. "He comes from a storied program at Oswego State and knows what it takes to compete at the highest of levels."
