Ma Scores First Collegiate Goal in Setback v. Continentals

Canton, NY – William Ma scored his first collegiate goal in the third period but the SUNY Canton men's hockey team fell to visiting Hamilton College, 5-1, on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hamilton scored a pair of first period goals from Rory Gagnon and Jason Brochu while outshooting the Roos 11-8 to take a 2-0 lead after the first period.
  • The Continentals received second period tallies from Sterling Bray and Brochu to take a 4-0 lead into second intermission.
  • Ma got the Roos on the board 30 seconds into the third frame off passes from Jeffrey Gauld and Sean Shepard.
  • Sean Allen added a late third period score for the 5-1 final.
  • Michael Cerasuolo made 20 saves in relief for the Roos, while Austin Washkurak took the loss making 10 saves
  • Anthony Tirabassi turned aside 19 shots in the win for the Continentals.
  • The Roos went 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The Roos are off until December 7th when they host Fredonia at 7 p.m. in the Roos House.
