SUNY Canton Bows out of Fall Frenzy to Defending Champ Binghamton, Finishes in Fifth Place

Canton, NY – SUNY Canton came within 59 miles of defeating the 2017 Expresso Fall Frenzy champions of SUNY Binghamton. Over 48 hours more than 100 SUNY Canton faculty, staff, students and community members biked a total of 1,345.8 miles, the second most miles overall in the Electric 8 round.

A collection of SUNY Canton athletic teams came out to support the competition (men's and women's soccer, men's and women's hockey, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, softball and volleyball). Over both evenings, a group of dedicated individuals rode up to or past midnight in an effort to pull even or pull ahead of Binghamton.

In addition SUNY Canton pedaled more than 550 miles over two days in the quarterfinal round as the institution advanced to compete in three rounds that saw the completion start with 218 schools.
"I can say without a doubt this is the best event I have organized or been a part of in my time here at SUNY Canton," Fitness Center Director/Pedal Pusher Bryan Parker said. "Over the last two weeks as we biked our way past 200 other colleges and universities from all over the United States, the excitement grew and the commitment from the faculty, staff, students and community was exceptional. I want to thank our athletic department staff and administration for their support, our students/athletes, the college community and our courageous community members who came out the last two weeks to help us achieve a finish we all should be extremely proud of. We'll be back next year to challenge for the Golden Spokes as champions of the Expresso Fall Frenzy. "
